Ever since Kirin restaurant opened in 1987, local families as well as tourists from all over the world came to enjoy its traditional Northern Chinese Cuisine. You can enjoy the local Chinese food at this high-end restaurant.
The open dining space has a bar table, party room and private eating room to provide customers with a comfortable atmosphere. The round table with a large Lazy Susan in the middle provides an easy distribution of food. Lazy Susan is turntable (rotating table) placed on the middle of table, which is often seen at traditional Chinese restaurants. This helps people to easily taste each dish since people could serve themselves instead of asking others.

Vancouver is a city rich with various kinds of fresh seafood. Kirin restaurant uses the seasonal fresh seafood to provide the best dishes in the season.
Cold Appetize
The cold appetizer is good food to start with. It is prepared without all the oily and heavy seasoning treatment. This allows people to enjoy without it being burden to digestive system.
The light dishes without much of seasoning treatment goes well with Ichiro from Dewasakura brewery. Ichiro is light, smooth and rich in Umami that pair well with light dishes.
Hot & Sour Soup
This is a must-try soup that is rich and thick, but not gloppy. The pepper and vinegar is added at a right amount to make the soup sufficiently “hot” and “sour” without being overwhelming.
Peking Duck
First step: The slow roasted duck is crispy, chewy and under-seasoned. The meat is wrapped in feather-weight crepes with Hoi Sin sauce and cucumber. Enjoy the juicy outer layer of the duck at first bite, followed by the more crunchy, textured cucumber in the center of the bite.
Second Step: The remaining meats of the duck is used up to create a scrumptiously savory mince that is wrapped in fresh lettuce.
The rich savoury of Peking Duck matches well with the rich umami of Dewa Sansan from Dewazakura brewery. This sake with prominent, crisp acidity creates a great harmony with Peking Duck.
Xiao Long Bao (Dumpling)
The minced pork is wrapped with wheat flour. The meat releases a fragrant juice within the dumpling skin when it is steamed. The juice is ready explode in the mouth when bitten.
Vegetables with selected Seafood
Fresh vegetables with shrimp, scallop, snow peas, mushrooms and baby corn. Enjoy the light and healthy authentic seafood of Chinese dish!
Kirin Special Fried Rice
The unique house special fried rice that is available only at Kirin Restaurant! The fried rice is not greevy at all and is amazingly delicious.
Seafood Fried Noodle
This pan-fried noodle is cooked with fresh seafoods. Enjoy the great combination of noodle, fresh seafoods, and vegetables!
