Yuwa Japanese Cuisine

Traditional Japanese

This Yuwa Japanese Cuisine opened on September 27, 2018.
The food menu was largely influenced at the time when a talented Japanese chef Masahiro Omori joined the Yuwa team. Although modernized and fusionized Japanese cuisines are the trends in Vancouver, Omori insisted on prevailing the Japanese tradition and started to create a menu of authentic Japanese cuisine. However, he encountered several obstacles during the menu creation. Comparing to the Japanese food market, there are less variety of seafood in Vancouver and there are differences in vegetables as well.

The differences are not just found in tastes, but also seasonality. Since he used to work at near Tsukiji market (a fresh fish market in Japan), he had to find his way to overcome these differences. After all the hard work that he put into creating the wonderful dishes, he brought a strong Japanese influence to the restaurants in Vancouver. Omori is now working as the executive chef & co-owner of Yuwa Japanese Cuisine.

Modern interior

Once people step into this restaurant, they will be welcomed by a dignified atmosphere. On top of its great quality of food and service, the interior design of Yuwa sets the stage for a people’s dining experience. The westernized interior design is to pursue the simpleness and therefore, people could focus on the delicious dishes. The white Live Edge Fir is used at the bar, and everything else is kept simple to have space for people to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The clean and simple design provide more inviting and offer a more comfortable place to relax.
