The largest Sake event in Vancouver

The SAKE FESTIVAL, hosted by the Sake Association of British Columbia (SABC), provided a great opportunity for sake lovers to meet with sake agents in British Columbia and sake breweries from Japan, Canada and the United States. All participants enjoyed 107 types of sake provided from 33 different breweries and learnt about sake at the same time.

This event is held only once in a year, and it is already held 3 times, including the SAKE FEST 2018. More sake lovers start knowing the presence of this event, and tickets are sold out more quickly each year. Sake Festival 2018 ended in a huge success with all door-tickets sold out before the event day. There were in total 127 licensee customers, and 251 general consumers came to join the event. Japanese sake is now a trending alcoholic beverage that the demands for this event was extremely high.

UJI GREEN TEA UMESHU

This Umeshu brings a totally new experience to all participants. There is certainly a taste of Ume fruits, but it is not like the typical Umeshu. This liqueur contains the freshness of Kyoto Uji leaves that creates a great harmony of Ume fruits and Uji leaves.

Most participants fall in love with its taste of fresh Yuzu that is sweet but not too sweet. This refreshing liqueur satisfies every thirst of participants. The balance of sweetness and tartness from Yuzu fruits is amazing.

KOTO SEN NEN JUNMAI DAIGINJO

The very first impression of this sake is the surprise of its elegant taste with deep in rice’s Umami character. This Daiginjo sake uses a special brewing rice called “IWAI MAI” to create the rich taste of Umami. Participants find this sake much different from other sake in terms of the delicate taste and the Umami character.

SUITEN IPPEKI

The incredibly smooth texture of this sake is an eye-opening experience for most participants. Most participants are surprised by its delicate, balanced, fragrant, and complex taste

oka ginjo

Many participants who just started drinking sake enjoy the floral and fruity Ginjo aroma. This Ginjo sake is easy to drink with a gentle background note of umami character

SAKU Sparkling

Sparkling sake is not yet known to many participants since it is a relatively new kind of sake in the market. A bubbly sake catches the interests of the participants. Amongst all the sparkling sake, this Saku is refreshingly light and flavorful sparkling sake.
It gains popularity among female participants during the festival.
